Interview with Belgium's first ever Jerk Crew - Jerkamites

Shariff: How old are you and where do you live?

Cleo Geuens: We are 12, 14, 16, and 17 and we live in Belgium.


Shariff: How did you first hear about Jerkin?

Cleo: Gaia was viewing video’s on youtube when she came across the New Boyz. She immediately liked the song and she started searching for other people that were jerking. That’s when she ‘discovered’ jerkin and showed it to us.


Shariff: Are the” New Boyz” being played on your local radio stations?

Cleo: No, but many people know them


Shariff: What is the name of your Crew? Who are the members? How did you come together as a Crew?

Cleo: Our name is Jerkamite. In our crew we have Gaia, Neon, Venom, Spynox, Mega and Digital


Shariff: Did you wear Skinny Jeanz before you started Jerkin?

Cleo: Gaia did, but she’s a girl so that’s pretty normal. But also the rest had a few skinnys :p


Shariff: When did you make your first Jerk video?

Cleo: Our first video with the crew was one month ago.


Shariff: What was the most difficult dance step to learn? How long did it take to learn it?

Cleo: I think it was the reject :p when you first start it’s a bit difficult to learn. It took us 1-2 days to do it correct.


Shariff: Who is your favorite Jerk artist and why?

Cleo: We don’t really have 1 favorite jerk artist. But we do look up to the New Boyz, The Rangers, Jinc …


Shariff: What are the top 5 songs on your iPod?

Cleo: Rangers – Go Hard, Baby Dollz – My Cookie, Savii Inc- Four Finghaz up, New Boyz- Colors, Cali Swagg district- Teach me how o dougie


Shariff: Did you know there is a movie coming out about Jerkin?

Cleo: Yes


Shariff: How would you describe your Swagg?

Cleo: Improvising and explosive ? :p

Shariff: How big is Jerkin in your neighborhood? Who was the first person you saw Jerkin in your neighborhood and how did they find out about it?

Cleo: It’s pretty big, a lot of people know what it is but they don’t know how to jerk. We never saw someone jerkin in our neighborhood :p


Shariff: What do your friends say when they see you Jerkin?

Cleo: They think it’s cool and they want to be in our videos :p


Shariff: Have you ever been to the United States?

Cleo: Gaia has, but the rest would like to.
