People always ask if Jerkin will “live or die out”. The problem with this question is that The Jerk Movement is now evolving into The Skinny Jeanz Movement and the New Boyz already set it off by recording a video and releasing their hit song “Cricketz”. This song has become the anthem for The Movement, yet people on the outside of the Movement just see a bunch of kids dancing in the streets because they are used to seeing images of Break Dancing or Krumpin and automatically assume that Jerkin is the continuance of these past dance cultures. If you have read any national/international publications about what was previously known as “The Jerk Movement”, you would see a consistent theme of entrepreneurship and individuality. The entrepreneurship combined with individuality is something the dance world has never seen before. I could be more concise to convey my argument that The Skinny Jeanz Movement has sustainability in youth culture for years to come, but you may become inspired to change your name to Shariff Hasan and write and direct a documentary set to be released this summer on this very topic. Abraham Lincoln said it best, “Books serve to show a man that those original thoughts of his aren't very new at all.”
