Due to the collaborative nature of the culture, through music and social networking, I assumed that the teenagers knew each other on a personal level, but they didn’t. The high majority of the teenagers in The Movement had never met in person and had only communicated online through MySpace and YouTube. So, when we began filming, it was amazing introducing the teenagers to each other and seeing their excitement and appreciation for each other’s work. Probably the biggest moment so far was the photo shoot we did with Hedi Slimane for VOGUE HOMME Japan. The kids were overwhelmed and excited to be in a high fashion photo shoot with, Hedi Slimane, the Christian Dior designer responsible for the Skinny Jeanz Fashion Movement the kids so closely embrace.
