Describing the Jerkin Dance By, Shariff Hasan
Unlike Break Dancing and Krumping, Jerkin is much less acrobatic and much more technical footwork. No two people Jerk alike and the dancers are recognized by their own individuality, which can not be compared with fellow Jerkers.
The main dance steps in The Jerkin Movement are:
• The Jerk
• Reject
• Pin Drop
• Sponge Bob
• Dougie
The dance steps are constantly being upgraded, similar to computer software. For example, the “Reject” of late 2008 was upgraded to the “Reject 2.0” in mid 2009 because of additional footwork added to the dance move.
