Indigo Unchained, founder of the “War Movement”, sits down with us to talk about her friendship with Legacy of “New Boyz” and the photo shoot she was featured in for VOGUE HOMME Japan, photographed by Hedi Slimane. (Indigo fills us in on her future plans abroad).

Shariff: How old are you, and when was the first time you made a YouTube video? What did you do in it?

Indigo Unchained: I'm 17 and the first time I made a YouTube video was when I was 13 talking about how pimp I was and that anyone else is not pimp enough. Lol (Type in are u pimp enough? On YouTube ill be sure to pop up lol.)

Shariff: You were in the “You’re A Jerk” video. How did that happen and what was it like?

Indigo: I was friends with Legacy of "New Boyz", and he needed a girl for the part so I volunteered. It was a cool experience, my first time on a real camera. But since I knew Legacy I wasn't shy and we just had fun!

Shariff: I noticed you are very popular on Twitter, how long have you been using it and how many followers do you have? How can people find you online?

Indigo: I first made a Twitter August 2009 I have 17,121 followers whoot whoot! U can Tweet me at @indigounchained

Shariff: I’ve heard your music, and you are a very talented rapper, what inspires you to pick up a microphone? How long have you been rapping?

Indigo: I've been rapping since I was 11. But I just became super serious with it last year. I’m a fun rapper, I just like to enjoy myself because it’s what I love to do. I’m less of the "rap battle" type. So most of the time I pick up a mic to enjoy myself because it’s what I love to do.

Shariff: You were recently photographed by Hedi Slimane in VOGUE HOMME Japan. What did you think about the photographs?

Indigo: Super duper dope sauce ! They are the most awesome photographs I've ever taken. It made me look at myself like "deng, do I look that good, or was it just the photographer?" lol.

Shariff: Who is the celebrity you most admire and why?

Indigo: Hmmm. Hard question. I would say Demi Lovato. I don't know her. And it takes a lot to admire someone u don't really know, but her music is real and her acting is phenomenal.

Shariff: What do you like most about performing?

Indigo: Dancing and putting on a good show. I love acting out my songs as I’m performing, then when I break out the dance moves the crowd looks astonished like “deng, I didn't know she could do that!”. lol

Shariff: Do you consider yourself confident or cocky?

Indigo: Both.

Shariff: If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be and why?

Indigo: France !!! I love everything I'VE HEARD about it. Can't wait to go. Everything is just right up my alley, Fashion , boys , life style seems dope.

Shariff: Tell us about the “War Movement”.

Indigo: War Movement is basically a movement about ur struggle. What you've been through and generating what you have been through into fully pursuing your dreams through God. Also being leaders in the entertainment business or what ever ur trying to pursue.

Shariff: Describe yourself in one word.

Indigo: lucky

Shariff: What is your favorite dance step?

Indigo: "rocking"

Shariff: What are the first 5 songs on your iPod right now?

Indigo: Kesha-tik tok, drake-say something, drake-money to blow, drake-doin me, alisha keys -sleeping with a broken heart

Shariff: Why did you change your name from Indigo Vanity to Indigo Unchained?

Indigo: Vanity only got me so far. Unchained is a subliminal message of me commin out and truly being who I want to be.

Shariff: What can we expect from Indigo Unchained in the future?

Indigo: The world.
